Rekindle ("the App") is operated by T&T Eiendom, org.nr. 924 495 243, Oslo, Norway ("we", "us", "our"). Rekindle is a couples app that helps partners strengthen their relationship through daily questions, shared reflections, and private conversations.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use Rekindle. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address — used for authentication and account recovery
- Display name — visible to your partner within the couple
- Profile photo — optional, visible to your partner
Content You Create
- Text responses — your answers to daily relationship questions
- Chat messages — private messages between you and your partner
- Couple photos — photos uploaded to your shared memories
Technical Data
- Push notification tokens — to deliver reminders and notifications
- User ID — a unique identifier generated by our authentication system
- Device type and OS version — for compatibility and debugging purposes
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and improve the Rekindle service:
- Couple communication — displaying your answers and messages to your partner
- Prompt generation — selecting relevant daily questions for your couple
- Notifications — sending reminders when new questions are available or your partner has responded
- Account management — enabling login, password reset, and account deletion
- Service improvement — understanding usage patterns to improve the app (aggregated, non-identifiable data only)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase, a cloud platform with data centers in the EU/EEA. All data is:
- Encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption
- Encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+
- Access-controlled via Row Level Security (RLS) policies — your data is only accessible to you and your partner
Your answers to daily questions are hidden from your partner until the designated reveal time, enforced at the database level.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
- Supabase (EU) — authentication, database, file storage, and real-time messaging
- Expo Push Notification Service — delivery of push notifications to your device
- Apple StoreKit — processing of in-app purchases (handled entirely by Apple; we do not see or store payment details)
These services process data only as necessary to provide their respective functions and are bound by their own privacy policies.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We do not share your data for marketing purposes.
Your data may only be shared:
- With your partner within the App (answers, messages, photos) — this is the core function of the service
- With essential service providers listed above, solely to operate the App
- If required by law, in response to a valid legal request from a competent authority
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — correct inaccurate personal data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to restrict processing — limit how we process your data
- Right to object — object to our processing of your data
- Right to withdraw consent — withdraw previously given consent at any time

8. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and you continue to use the App. Specifically:
- Account data — retained while your account exists
- Responses and messages — retained while your couple relationship is active
- Photos — retained while your account exists
If you do not use the App for an extended period, we may reach out to confirm whether you wish to keep your account before any data cleanup.
9. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the App under Settings. When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your profile information (name, email, avatar)
- All your responses to questions
- All your chat messages
- Your uploaded photos from storage
- Your invitation records
- Your subscription data
- Your authentication credentials
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Deletion is processed immediately upon confirmation. If you were part of a couple, your partner's own data (their responses, their messages) is not affected.
10. Children's Privacy
Rekindle is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised.
Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
